Can a Canadian Citizen work in the USA without a visa ? How easy is that ?
If you are going to stay 2 yrs in Canada, you might as well spend 1 more yr and become a Canadian citizen.
I actually have a similar question. I am in the exact same situation. The question is that in this case if you have an H1 stamped in your passport, is it ok to travel to US on that H1 ? or would you need a B2 tourist visa to travel ?
I am asking since technically you are employed by same employer but you are getting paid by Candian payroll not US Payroll.

I believe, USCIS website was updated on Sep 21st 2009.
My Priority date is Jun 2006 and applied in EB3 category.
I got an email on Sep 22nd 2009 from USCIS saying "Document mailed to applicant". When I see online status, it is "Document production or Oath Ceremony".
I called twice USCIS to confirm it. But they are saying "According to online status the document was already sent to your current address".
I am in a situation to beleive it or not? to celebrate it or not.... :-( .....
And one more thing is "I got EAD before my marriage and I haven't added my wife to I485"?
If I get GC, how to add my wife to GC? is it possible? what is her status right now?

Update your profile first. Your priority date is nowhere near the approval timeframe. If by chance, you do get it, you can file for a "follow to join" procedure.

I was told by my attorneys para leagal (so who knows if this is true or not....) that the ITIN number is the same number that will be issued in the form of ssn.

Why do you think it is good news? Same Senators will be there in the Senate. Do you think they will accept skil? Not only skil any major immigration bill like AGRI, DREAM act will be stalled till next election.
It seems all immigration bill are dead till nov. 2008. I donot see any bill will pass in this Senate.

looks like they will make us wait till 17th and accept/reject case from July 2nd...and most of the rejected cases might not be eligible to refile :mad:...this is my guess!

I have problem with my lawyer too .I found out he made a mistake on my application concerning my information.my employer gave me the password so I checked my status on line.and when I asked him what gonna happen with my application .he were furious and he ask me who told you and he says thats not true.but I saw every thing with my proper eyes .any way he told me that next time if I wana talk to him I have to send him a check of 250 dollar the price of the consultation.then he can answer my question.and he told me that if he wana hurt me he can do it.I don't know what he means.and after I called my employer to tell him about the lawyer .today I foundout that the password for checking the status was changed. here's my story friends .plus my perm is pending for 127 day by now. please guys advice

Are interviews instant or do you typically have to wait for a date? A petition approval is not an approval to work, correct? Sorry, I am just learning the process. Is there a link on here that shows how it should be done?
BTW, this person was here on an L1 for another company up until December 07 in US, went home for vacation for a month, sent in paperwork for L1A under new company since current visa lapsed, came back early to US on VW(green form) and then waited here for his new L1 petition to approve - while working. He thinks that this is ok. :eek:

How does a person file for a new L1 for a NEW company when they have been working on a previous L visa with that company. The company do the filing anyway since L's are employment based visas.

Same here.MTR approved NOV 2008 but online still showing Denied.It's strange feeling when you see denied status online..........Just live with it
Its been 2 years but my I-485 still shows denied although my MTR got approved and i have renewed 2 EADs and 2 APs etc.
Don't know for sure but i sent a letter to whitehouse and they sent a response couple of months later indicating my case is waiting for VISA number and everything else is alright.
And since my EADs and APs are approved in 2 years i am not that worried about online showing denied.

if you are not on his W-2, and the contract says that you are....that means he made a false contract, which should be invalid.
i think you can talk to a attorney to get more clear picture, but based on what you say....i think you shld be ok, since his initial contract was false.

Her 485 has been filed FOUR years ago sir.
She is NOT in H4 status anymore the day your I-485 is approved.
She has 180 days (from your approval date) to file I-485 application, otherwise she has to do follow-to-join CP at consulate abroad.
Consult a good attorney asap.

Well my experience with passport renewal in Chicago was HORRIBLE. First it took about 6 week to receive it. I ordered a jumbo passport but received a regular one ...called the office and left several messages -NO REPLY. Finally one Mr.Chaman Lal had to answer my call. My luck Chaman was horrible to talk (too rude) and was a perfect Bihari babu ( no offense to any Biharis on forum) said in pure Bihari accent,"No Jumbo passport made here and as far as refund for the extra money for the jumbo passport I don't refund any paisa to anybody" and the bang he hung up.

Myy EAD is expiring and Renewal is taking more than 1 year as per new processing times.
Can I switch back to H1-B. I am in EAD and I dont have any H1-B status now. I have used 5 1/2 years of h1B previously. Six years is not utilized

Anyhow, to give answer your question, in Houston, it took about 6 weeks. You can go there in person, get an appointment and you could cut down your processing time in half.
All this is based on the fact that it is a straightforward case.
