How can we be sure unless we ask them?
Deepak Chopra is a medical doctor, so pretty sure he would have used EB immigration.. you think he was family based?
Sabeer Bhatia is from BITS.. he studied here.. so I guess that would have been F1 first then started working here.
I am not sure if Deepak Chopra and other above are EB immigrants. I was asking for examples of people from EB immigrants community.

I applied for H1 extension in June'07. I got RFE on I94 first & then one more on my consulting company. Both were responded on time.. Finally, I got a denial notice on my H1 recently stating that my education background is not Computer Science related although i hold a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. Am very upset after hearing this.
I have few questions for the experts here.
1. Is it possible for me now to apply for new H1 thru some other company?
2. Can i re-appeal the decision and stay here legally?
3. Are there any good attorneys that can give me good advice for me to take the next step?
Please let me know.. This is urgent for me right now.

Paranoia at its helm. There are things that protect you like AC-21 when you don't have a GC. You have a GC, move on to the client job..
The only concern is if you had a contract signed with your consulting firm that you would not join your client for x number of years yada yada, so check your contract, if nothing is in there, you should be fine..

This is a hard call. I would probably wait for the EAD before deciding which one to cancel. you might be canceling one that is about to send you your EAD. It is risky.

AFAIK if your Perm is approved then you can do premium processing of I-140 and get H1 extension after 140 is approved
I have already moved to company B. Have an i-140 approved from company A in 09/2006. Now that my 6 years are over in 5 months, waiting for Fragomen to determine appropriate strategy for extension since new Perm has not been pending for 365 days. Anyone have experience with extending H1 using company A I-140 when with company B?

All this is nothing compared to what IV has given back to me as an organization. I was saved thousands of dollars due to July VB reversal. EAD helped me change jobs and leave MI in this tough economic downturn and auto companies inching toward bankruptcy. I just got my 2 year EAD today , and I thank IV for saving me hundreds of Dollars by getting EAD/AP period extended to 2 years. I don't know any other organization or person who has done so much for me. I am immensely grateful to be part of this movement.
It's my pleasure to start a volunteer group in the 'Volunteer State'. Hope we won't be short of volunteers :). It makes me nostalgic about the times MI chapter started as a group of few individuals and today boasts of 60+ members. Lets get organized here too. That's the only way to make our voices heard.
This is my promise to you - I won't ask you to do anything which I haven't done myself. And I won't force you to do anything, unless you feel that waiting for others to step up will not take you anywhere, and you feel ready to do something to help yourself and your family. I got an RFE on I-485 for the incomplete medicals. The RFE says that a 'specific' test results are missing and they need that test results to complete my application. I went to the same doctor and the lady there said, I did take that 'specific' test last year when I had medicals, but doctor forgot to mention that results in I-693. She said she is going to fill out a new I-693 form with all the results including the missing one (from old results) and will give me that sealed cover. Will this be enough? or do I need to take that 'specific' tests now and send the results?
I am planning to send the results tomorrow overnite.
Also, my Immigration Office number is 009 with TSC. Anybody got any approvals from this IO?
If you don't mind sharing, what is the date on the RFE letter?

Hi there,
I'm a newbie with DSLR's. I am using a D40x with a SB400 speedlight that I use to bounce light off the ceiling. I take a lot of photos of my daughter who goes a mile a minute. I have found that she is out of focus because it picks up something closer.
How do I take a shot that will have the entire shot in focus? What settings would I use? With 10 megapixels sometimes I want to get the shot and crop/frame it later. With kids it's impossible to set everything right before the shot is gone!

One of my colleague got the same.. USCIS wanted copies of I 94, Driver License and all pages of Passport.
They wanted color - clear copies.

Thanks for your info. Surely I am applying my new passport tomorrow. I am trying to call my attorney and left message. Still I did not hear back from him. My passoprt expires on August 05, 2007. My all applications mailed and are on the way to USCIS. I have option to recall my complete package only today. If I lose todays date then there will be no option.what should I do now?

if you are not on his W-2, and the contract says that you are....that means he made a false contract, which should be invalid.
i think you can talk to a attorney to get more clear picture, but based on what you say....i think you shld be ok, since his initial contract was false.

I was thinking about that as well...but I have minor problems that might not be solved within July so it better for me to apply in August.
I would advise you to file in July. Although USCIS says it will accept application till Aug 17th, in theory they could reject your application saying that your priority date is August. It would be heartburn for you all over again. If you can explain what your "minor" problems are, perhaps some of us could suggest a way out.
