Generating receipt may take 7-8 days but if they open it
Monday June 25th they may reject it saying its not current .... ??
That rejection will probably come back after 7 days too :-)
Interesting question. Since they are taking 8-10 days or more to generate receipts perhaps we can send papers in now and hope they generate a receipt in the first week of July.

Hi all!
I did quick search on this website and notice nothing about infopass experience at Detroit, MI office ( ... I am sure someone smarty pants is going to say I didn't search hard enough), anyway I wanted to share my expereience, so started this thread.
I have apointment tommorow, and will share what happened ( or didn't). If you had been already thru this, please feel free to share pointers.

I think its your LC job requirements which governs EB2/EB3. For EB2 classification on your I-140, your job must require 'Masters' or 'Bachelors+5Yrs Experience' on Labor Certification.
My Job ad says: Sr Business analyst wanted ... with MS/MBA or foreign equivalent with 5 yrs exp.
I have
BSc in physics - 3 yr India degree
PG diploma in Instrumentation - 1 Yr India PG diploma
PG dip in marketing mgmt - 1 Yr India PG dip (E learning)
PG dip in buiness admin - 1 Yr India PG dip (E learning)
MBA - 3 Yr India PG degree (E learning)
6 yrs in healthcare, 2 yrs in sales, 5 yrs as Business analyst with Indian s/w vendor. 13 yrs in total.
Does my job ad allow me to qualify for EB2? Will I have any issues at my I-140 stage? Pls share your thoughts

A few days back my wife got the same RFE. Except we were asked to sumbit different evidence like joint back account, joint tax filings, joint residency, insurance on which both names are listed etc.

do you know the reason for the i140 denial? That could be very critical....its just not about what your title is ..and what you do ..its about the whole 9 yards...let us know the reason for denial

d15...if it is in the budget I would go for the D80 over it's smaller brothers. I like the addition of the larger viewfinder (and the replaceable cover is a big plus imo) and the larger sensor. You may also find the 100 iso setting appealing. I can't say much about the other features Nikon offers and what would be appealing to you as I am a Canon user but I am guessing you've already done lots of homework as you near decision time.
From the little I know about Nikon, It looks like they have a good selection of lenses as you build up your gear. So far as quality of images I can't speak bad of Nikon from what I've seen. You sound like your commited to Nikon and I won't try to change that but I will say the D80 looks better for the extra $$$

I am trying to port from EB3-EB2 from the same employer.
Prior to joining the employer, I had MS+2 years of experience. However, the lawyer applied in EB3. The job description read:
Required: BS+3
MS+1 also accepted
Experience in technologies A,B,C,D
I applied based on my MS+1 experience. Now the same company has another position with a very similar job description with a different title.
Required:MS+1
Experience in technologies A,B,C,D
Q1. Would this qualify for a EB2 position? Do I have to worry about the job descriptions being almost similar
Q2. The titles are different. But the EB2 position doesn't have "Senior" in the position title. Is there a need to worry?

This happened with my wife case too. Company applied on June 1 , no update till dec ending , changed to premium processing as we have to go out of country got the approval in two days and copy in 7 days. I think its deliberate. But we are happy that we have it in hand. You cant do anything with this but rather give them extra 1000$ they want.
You happened to be lucky since you had the option of Premium Processing. But now, even if we wanted to, we cannot opt for it. I am sure, almost 90% of the members who have been waiting for months together would opt for PP (for I-140) if it is available now. I wonder why USCIS has not reinstated PP for I-140 now that they are done with the major workload(receipting,AP,EAD) due to the VB fiasco.

Title should have been: "God blessed me !! Got GC." Fix the title, other wise it looks like "God blessed you !! I got into trouble", Unless you feel GC as some trouble imposed on you.

I would also suggest to take an infopass and request for MTR - Motion to Reopen the case...to evaluate the decision. Go ahead and apply for 485 and do MTR, simultaneously.

The backlog centers have 10 fed govt employees and 100 guys from Exceed unless I am egregiously mistaken.
Why does any one think that those 100 guys will be left out with out any jobs? Wont the 10 fed guys be moved to Chicago/Atlanta NPC's with huge reloc benefits package? If they dont choose to move because of personal reasons, Do you know what kind of severance packages they get?
100 guys from Exceed will be definitely working for other fed agencies after they are done with this gig. IRS has a huge base in Philly and Exceed is a govt contractor. May be IT consultants need to learn from these folks..

We applied for her AP renewal on July 1st 2009 and on the status page, it says approval notice sent on July 16th. At the same time I also see a soft LUD on her I-485. The new date is 07/15/2009 but no status update. Are these two events connected or is someone actually looking at her I-485? Note, she is not current per priority date, however Texas processing times have been updated recently.

This due to increased fee coming to effect after July.
The increased fee went in on July 31, 2007 and as far as I know, no relief in fee was provided to naturalization applicants unlike I-485 applicants till Aug 17. Still many naturalization applications were filed in Aug 2007.
Looks like the I-485 wave swept the naturalization applicants too :)
