Just a thought. I think something is holding back folks to write up these letters directly to president. Do you guys think it's a good idea just to have these letters mailed to IV and then pass it along to white house administration when IV meets them.
Those who are against IV and have never supported or never wanted to do anything just make it a point that they will NEVER do it. The reason they give will be a "Silence" or a "change in topic of discussion".
Pessimists will say "Nothing will happen" or "So did you get your GC? after the rally?"
Some say "Who cares for GC when you have choice to go home"

This is just a message to 2005/2006/2007 PD guys. Please don't think that some miracle will happen and dates will be current soon, it will take its own time. Mostly for EB2 & EB3June 2006- June 2007 guys, it will be like a lottery if the PD becomes current somewhere in 2007 Oct-Nov time. Right??

Hi All, I had a quick question.
My I-485 got approved earlier this week from NSC and I received the approval/welcome letter by USPS.
My online status is at post-decision activity and not at CPO.
Though my welcome notice says that I should receive the card in 3 weeks, I am wondering if I need to be at CPO status before that happens....also I read somewhere they may require another FP before CPO (that was talking more abt transfer cases, but mine has always been at NSC).....but nowhere in my approval notice does it ask for an FP.
I was wondering if I should just sit tight and wait for the physical card or try to find out more information.

both H1 were approved from the same USCIS center? the one which is stuck in PIMS, which service center it was?

For those who don't know, the first three letters of the receipt number in you I-797 H-1b approval notice indicates the service center.
Like SRC is Texas, EAC is Vermont, LIN is nebraska and CSC for california.

Guys do not feed the freeloaders by telling anything you are reading in the donor forum. Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. They are taking time off and spending own money for you and me. Nothing is free in this world. IV is also doing this for you and me and we are taking it for granted. It was on Dec 2005 . Luftansa . Chennai - Frankfurt- Dallas . I was waiting for my boarding pass . I handed over my e ticket to the lady at the counter. Instead of issuing the boarding pass , she asked me about my H1B papers. I got confused . Why should I show my papers to this lady ? . Since it was my very first trip to US , I meekly showed her my papers.After that she had issued the boarding pass.
Friends, you may think I am very meek.This was not my first overseas trip. I had visited Japan previously. I didn't want to have fight with her and start my journey in bitter taste from the beginning.

They look for criminal hits, why do they care about foreclosure or credit history. The scope is to look for undesirable elements who are a National Security risk. It has nothing to do with credit history.
The sad part is that we have no criminal history and we still get stuck because of a problem with their process, there is no recourse, you can write to any one you want. WOM can work but thats about it...if people continue filing WOM they might come up with something else to block WOMs too. The term 'national security' is pretty powerful, credit history would mean that half of this country would not be eligible to stay here

I just called USCIS using POJ method. Nice IO . She took time listening BUT same darn response.
I had opened a service request on 9/8 . I recieved a letter stating to wait for 6 months.
IO told me ,all the name check, FP are cleared. No RFE.
Since SR is open, wait for 6 months.

If your PD is 2003, then you are waiting for 5 years, not for decade. Just FYI, saying decade (instead of 5 years) is material misrepresentation.

The whole idea of this campaign was to get media attention and publicize this issue as much as possible, which we all know that it did just that quite effectively despite all the apprehensions and reservations expressed.
This campaing was never thought of as a panacea for all our problems, whether it will lead to a fruitful or POSITIVE result that is still unknown. What is known is that this drive has provided some much needed traction and attraction to our cause, which is the important RESULT at this point in my opinion.
All I am trying to say is that we should give some thought and imagination before discounting or discarding an idea even if it appears to be far fetched at first. Any idea proposed which is out of the ordinary will be meted with reservations and oppositions, after all its nature's law that there is always resistance to change,:rolleyes: good or bad.
I don't want you to be eating your words :D , I know for sure that you want this problem resolved as much as anyone else on the forum.:D
Everyone has right to be SKEPTICAL and even I am SKEPTICAL about the final outcome of our over all struggle, but I wasn't SKEPTICAL about the outcome of this campaign.

We will make next week as a "WEEK OF ACTION". If you see my other thread ("can we send Pizza" thread) and many others, the common routine is to get many good ideas, but not much action.
We will gather as much support as we can till this weekend and at the same time make sure we consolidate the contact information at one place who to contact, and then starting next week, we can start sending out our message as loud as we can.
We must push for 5 years GC and 10 years Citizenship. I know how much painful it canbe for someone after 11 years waiting for GC, wheras others with 6-7 years in US applying for Citizenship. Not that they got it, but why we did not get it.
And we will focus on points how we can contribute in this crisis.

There are lot of things, that are/appear to be unfair, but are legal. Example - To replace 2 us workers that are earning 90k with 3 works with 60k salary. This may appear unfair (specially from workers point of view), but this is legal.
Same way, there are many legal shortcuts that allow to place a L1 worker. These companies have highly paid lawyers and their job is to find legal ways to reduce costs. For obvious reasons, I will refrain from discussing examples of such legal shortcuts. Anybody who has worked in consulting environment for enterprise level projects for 6+ years can guess them.
In this fast changing tech environment, I would like to put famous Charles Darwin quote

Please dont use google it is a waste of time - FBI uses its own databases and looks for 'hits' in terms of derogatory information.
Instead lobby for the following:-
1) USCIS should have the authority to ask FBI as to why the namecheck is taking so long and provision to expediate name check if it is has been pending for more than 'x' number of years (probably 2 or 3 i guess).
2) FBI should provide a reason for the delay. Most of the time (80%) the delay is simply because they dont have the time to open your file.
3) Procedure to Pay $500-$1000 to expediate NC (1 week) with a yes or No result. this will all allow FBI to obtain resources to process NCs faster
NC is the next bottle neck that we have to lobby for.
