On speeding up Labor certification
When one of us said congress's intention for LC is 21-60 days, the staffer replied that was before 911. How can we make this happen and speeded up the work in PBEC/DBEC?
The staffer also mentioned that a lot of time is spent on "background check" and mentioned it was suggested it might be better for FBI to do it. But of course the FBI had other things to do and that suggestion didn't fly.
One of us mentioned the clogging due to 245-i. LCs could be speeded up -- if the paper work of those on the 245-1 (Apr.,25,2001) track is different from us, then could those be handled differently/ in another place to speed up our LCs in PBEC and DBEC.

(1) Labor Cert: Intent = 21-60 days; This stage has nothing to do with 9-11! Nothing at all! There has been no change in process here, maybe there are more applications, but that doesn't change the intent reality story. Again, they need to fund the program in order to achieve intent.
(2) I-485/I-140: Intent = 6 months; Remember that the presidential mandate for 6 month times is a post-9-11 mandate -- CIS's own director has testified before Congress that they are trying to achieve this goal. So the 9-11 argument doesn't wash here either -- they need to fund the operation properly so that the president's mandate is satisfied.
(3) Background checks
(a) USCIS queries the IBIS database maintained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
(b) FBI conducts a finger print check
(c) FBI conducts a name check.
So I don't know what she meant by FBI can do it. They already are.

After reading all this, my story is even funnirer. I went to India to get engaged (arranged) when the dates became current...and not they rolled back to 1000BC.... Now I am engaged, and hearing all these wife stores feel quite screwed...lol..
reminds me of a popular hindi maxim:
"Shadi aisa laddoo hai jo khaye wo pacchataaye, jo na khaye wo bhi pacchataaye"
loosely translated in english it means

Yes, but you are missing the one important fact, that "band aid solution" would put band aid to thousands of hurt people which will sooth them for a while. I understand, your 485 is already in pipeline so you already have those band aids but claiming to be sorry portrayed you very selfish. you mean there is no freedom in India??? 80-90% of the indians who have H1 have not attended college in US and do you think these people are not educated and knowledgeable. I think you should grow up man... or might be when you get sick and get admitted in hospital and your insurance doesn't cover... you realize the importance of India...
I am not commenting against the previous post or this one. But I personally feel there are some scariest things in US. One of them is lack of heath insurance, even if you have one, you are not 100% sure it protects you when you are in dire need. The cost is DAMN high. Costs your arms and legs.
The 2nd thing, if you are out of job for quite sometime, which itself is scary, on top of that, all your savings evaporate quickly.
In India, you can live without job for an year, without too much impact on your personal life and your finances. Insurance issues... we are fine in India..
US has its advantages... India has its advantages... just because you are in US now doesn't mean you can talk rubbish about India.... If you like US, talk good about it... but you don't need to de-grade one country to highlight another...

Great news. What will be greater is that not only these "students", but the people who employ them, the people who run the "university", the ones who gave accreditation to this "university" should be all loaded in a ship and dropped-off on a hitherto uninhabited island in the south pacific, with a live stream of their life made available post drop-off.
They can all happily screw each other on the island.
BTW, let one of the right wing radio shows get a hold of this news, we will not hear the end of this. The next logical step will be Steve King professing an end to F1 visas.

The problem really was that IOs are not properly briefed on AC21. There are some cases where they have to ask their supervisors about it. What if the supervisors are also not familiar with AC21?
As others are saying, IOs will soon gain more knowledge on AC21 as many will use it due to the retrogression. Until that time, it is risky.

I too thought that it could be a hoax call. But When I discussed with my employer and came to know the name of the person who called me is same as that of person who visited our employer 2 months back, then I realized that it is not a hoax call.

Actually the SU-30MKI beat both the F-15 and Euro fighter in training with the US and RAF, and is developed jointly by HAL.
Eurofighter has also invited India to partner in its development
India has so good grip on Russian & European Aviation technology (I got opportunity to be a part of MIG s and Jaguar upgrades for several versions in IAF &HAL).
In fact India is already involved into actual development & reselling of Russian MiG version air crafts to some third world countries after Russian collapse.
Inherently Russia always carry the base line fundamentals forward to newer technologies. By already having good expertise on those,
It perfectly makes sense from India's point of view to go with SU 30 and Euro fighters compared to F versions.
Immigration - It may not have any impact on immigration even if it is, what difference it makes after loosing so much of precious time in waiting already.

That was a very illogical reply to the per-country limit question. How come a large number of people from certain countries automatically eliminate people from smaller countries from getting green cards? That's an extremely dumb way of looking at it.

Well they will easily find out from your SSN number if one is on payroll or not. I am seriously looking into this matter of getting illegal and many of my friends agree. Once the bill passes in its current form we should get advise from a good lawyer to convert status from legal to illegal. It sounds so insane when I say changing for legal to illegal..but that is the hit thing these days.
I might offend a few here but I see an obvious analogy and I am going to point it
Converting from legal to illegal is like in India You did not get admission through regular/normal seat so one converts himself to SC,ST, OBC(reservation) and get admission through fake certificate :) at a lower percentage and no fees
